In his will John LAMBERT (So19712) mentions his wife Joan, son Geoffrey and youngest son Roger, and daughters Elizabeth LAMBERD, Jane wife of Robert BEST and Joan wife of Cornelius JOHNSON. He also mentions his brothers Thomas LAMBERD and William WELLS.
An extract from Banstead Manor court rolls, dated 8 Apr 1516, records the admission of John LAMBERT and his wife Joan. However, while this may be the same Joan named in John's 1533 will, she may not have been John's first wife nor the mother of any or all of his children.
Variant spellings of the surname LAMBERT include LAMBART, LAMBERD, LAMBARDE etc.
