NOTES
Various published pedigrees suggest that Jeffery LAMBERT (So9856) married five times, though as yet I have only found evidence of three wives. Nevertheless, I cannot be sure that Beatrice was Jeffery's first wife, or that she was mother of any or all of his older children.
Jeffery LAMBERT (So9856) names fifteen children in his will, seven sons and eight daughters, three with their married surnames. Apart from the three married daughters, all the children are also listed together towards the end of the will, sons then daughters, in what appears to be age order. Jeffery also mentions his wife Anne and their unborn child.
The earliest Banstead register dates from about 1547 though some pages are damaged or missing, and there are no surviving burial entries between December 1561 and June 1581. The burial details I have given above for Jeffery LAMBERT (So9856) are from some notes written at the end of the first register, and while it is unclear if the date given there is that of his burial, his will indicates that he did die around that time.
Variant spellings of the surname LAMBERT include LAMBART, LAMBERD, LAMBARDE etc.
