NOTES

Although John DUTTON (Sh374) names her as his wife in his will, Ann may not have been his first wife, nor mother of any or all of his children.

In the late 17th century Quaker burials were noted in the Witney parish registers on receipt of the certificate then required, but the information given there sometimes differs from that in Quaker records. The Quaker burial details given above are from the Witney Monthly Meeting registers, but the parish registers show Quaker burials for an unamed child of John DUTTON on 13 Aug 1689 (presumably Thomas above), and for sons named Peter on 13 Sep 1689 and 5 Dec 1690.
